Few things are more liberating than ditching your clunky, outdated website for a professional and high-functioning new one.  Your vision (and investment) is about to come to life. However, sometimes website launches fail to deliver the expected results. Here are four essential elements to making sure your custom development project takes off successfully. **1. A Trusted Relationship with Your Web Development Firm** [Custom web development](https://resources.bitwisesolutions.com/blog/topic/custom-development) isn’t just a one-and-done ordeal: you will be consistently updating pages and monitoring analytics. When an issue arises, or you simply want to ask a question, your web developer is your new best friend. Hiring a web service firm is anything but a one-time transaction: that firm will be teaching and assisting you with everything you need to know about your new site. A confident relationship with your web developer will make all the difference. **2. Content** Your new website is a digital billboard for the world to see. To generate traffic, you need your website to look and feel a certain way. Web content should be directed towards your buyer personas; you want the right content for the right visitors. Branding with colors, fonts, and image selection will make a credible impression on the people viewing your website. As you and your web partner collaborate on design and add content to your website, it is important to trust the feedback you receive. Once again - this constructive relationship with your developer will help facilitate a powerful custom website. **3. Communication** Your ability to communicate with your developer and audience will determine the initial success of your website launch. Externally, tell your customers a new website is on the way! Promoting this information will improve visitor awareness and make for a better launch. Internally, the relationship and communication ability between your firm and the web designer is crucial. There needs to be a mutual understanding of your company expectations and goals for the website launch - this includes everything from dates and time all the way down to processes. **4. Reliable Tools** When choosing a web development firm, it can be helpful to think about the launch of your site from the beginning. There are certain tools and resources that are trusted by thousands that can help make the launch of your site smooth. The first tool to think about is the Content Management System you choose to develop around. Do you go with the cheapest? Do you go with the most expensive? Do you go with the one that is easiest to use? Do you go with the most reliable? These are the questions you can and should be asking prior to development and how you choose can impact your launch. The second tool to think about is your CRM software and how it integrates with your CMS. This too can directly impact the launch of your website. This is by no means a comprehensive list, but these elements will make a definite impact on the outcome of your site launch. If your organization is looking for a custom website, Bitwise has launched hundreds of projects over the past two decades. Our team would be more than happy to guide you through a successful development and launch.   [![Transform Your Website Today](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/2240067/4b1b0335-4066-4354-b733-cf2563beb0d0.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/2240067/4b1b0335-4066-4354-b733-cf2563beb0d0)   *![Anchor Text Line Divider](https://resources.bitwisesolutions.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Blog_Images/Divider.png?t=1492614641252&width=895&name=Divider.png "Anchor Text Line Divider") At Bitwise, we like to focus on what is important: relationships.
